The scheme is available in some cases to another eu country to receive health care, taking the right to reimbursement of medical expenses through tariffs approved and published by the General Judicial Mutuality, provided such assistance is included in the Portfolio of services of Common National health system.
Management procedures and authorization of this cross-border assistance:

To foster mutual public health services of the NATIONAL or of the national institute of Health Management: the competent authorities are the autonomous communities and the national institute of Health Management in cases of Ceuta and Melilla.

In order to foster mutual medical bodies: the medical entity is obliged to provide cross-border healthcare, depending on the procedure and the rates contained in resolution 18/04/2016, BOE 06/05/2016.
It is necessary to request authorisation before General Mutual Judicial if the assistance requires hospitalization of at least one night or when it comes to assistance to demand the use of infrastructure or highly specialized medical equipment or costly.
In any case reimbursement covers the costs of transfer or accommodation.
